Posture - The Key to Spinal Health

If the vertebrae in the spine line up correctly, then you will have a lot less pain. Chiropractic adjustments are very helpful to align the spinal vertebrae, but when a person goes home their pain level depends a lot on their posture habits and choices.

Postures For Success

  • Sit on a straight back chair
  • Put your feet flat on a book box or stool
  •  Knees should be slightly higher than the hips
  • The back should be supported.
  • If you need more spinal support add a small rolled up towel in the small of your back.

       GOOD HABITS
  1. Sit up straight.
  2. Keep reading material at eye level.
  3. Feet flat on a book box or stool when sitting.
  4. Towel roll behind back

Postures That Sabotage

  • Sitting on a cushy couch with a rounded spine can injure your spine.
  •  Putting your feet up on the coffee table   with crossed ankles will make it even worse.
  • This position will bulge your disc towards the spinal cord.

       BAD HABITS
  1. Slouching.
  2. Reading with material on lap.
  3. Legs crossed, heels on a stool outstretched.
